Every state in India have different objective, vision and perception towards playing of poker and as per the rules made by the central government of India the vision, legislation and rules defining for the poker is in the hand of state and central do not really put their interface in deciding the legislation and put its own interface in the law and regulations with respect to poker.
Although leaving a few states most of the states have considered poker as a game of skill and considered it to be legal in terms of playing, the position is not the same with every state and it is important to go through their opinion and perception towards playing poker.

Laws in Nagaland for poker:-
Nagaland has prohibited any type of gambling and betting in their state by virtue of their bills of “the Nagaland gambling act” and “the promotion and game of skill” bill in the year 2015. Therefore, they have made a mandate law that if a person wishes to play poker in their state then they do have to access the site or places who have taken legal license from the government and have a lawful option for running such.
Laws in Maharashtra for poker:-
Although betting is banned in Maharashtra by the state government of Maharashtra but as per the prevention of gambling act there is a provision to extend some divisions of these practices but for that one needs to obtain proper permission from the state government. Therefore, with the permission of the state government one has a right to play poker in the state.
Laws in Goa for poker:-
Goa is a union territory where betting and gambling is admissible and the state government over herein have permitted to play games like poker and other games in the casino. For running such a person need to have a proper license with the permission to operate such function in the state which needs to be renewed timely with proper fees and administration as per the rules mentioned by the government of Goa.
Therefore various states permit and various have a strict ban and one needs to know all the legal remedies and acceptance as per their regulatory state in terms of playing poker.
